Adam Capps grew up listening to music from a wide variety of artists from Queen to Garth Brooks and everything in between. In his early teens he picked up an old, red, Danelectro guitar and began to pick away at it. It wasn't long after that, he had written his first few songs and music became part of his life. During his attendance at Wichita State University, where he was an accomplished track athlete, he earned a degree in Spanish and Education. He used that degree to begin his first job as a high school Spanish teacher. During the last couple years of college he started performing at smaller venues and parties and gained a following in his hometown of Wichita, Ks. It wasn't until the age of 24 that Adam had the aspirations to pursue a music career.
The first single from Adam's self titled EP was "I Call it Home" in late 2014 and it has remained the number one song for fans of the Adam Capps Band. The band has shared the stage with some of country's greatest stars like Billy Currington, The Band Perry, Big & Rich, Maren Morris and Granger Smith.
In late July of 2016 the Adam Capps Band released their debut album, "Play it Proud", with ten original songs written by Adam. Their first single from the album was "Memories on the Road", which immediately began to gain attention and radio play throughout the country. "Memories" was the first single to reach the Music Row country chart and climbed to be one of the top 80 songs in the country. Their second album, "One More Song", was released in October of 2017 and their first single, the title track, from the sophomore album debuted on the Music Row Charts shortly after its release and ultimately ended it's run as a top 60 song on country radio! The band released their 2nd full album, "The Beat Goes On", in April of 2019 following the successful release of the first single, "The Beat Goes On". The latest music from the band came in 2020 with their single, "The World Needs a Beer"!
The band consists of Adam Capps joined by lead guitar player Walt Moore, Danny Burt pounding on the drums, and Norm Bennett thumpin' the bass. Their blend of classic rock, country, and southern rock has become a hell of a sound that isn't like anything else on the radio today.
Kristi and Adam met in 2018 when they discovered a shared passion for music. Kristi made her debut on their co-written Christmas song, "A Very Merry Christmas", and ever since that day the two have been playing music and building a life together. After nearly 10 years of touring and playing music with the Adam Capps Band, the singer decided to add a new venture to his career and start a musical duo with his wife, Kristi. With Kristi's classic country and soulful voice she brings a new edge to Adam's upbeat genre of country rock. The two have merged together to form a unique sound that they call, simply, "The Capps".
